If you saw the farm house and surrounding land, it’s not difficult to understand why Jamie and Micah chose to get married at Jamie’s childhood home in Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania. Talk about a photographer’s dream location! There were so many great places to shoot that I was almost paralyzed with indecision. This area looks nice…and that one looks nice…and that one…and that one…every square inch of this place was GORGEOUS! A simply beautiful farm house and even more beautifully maintained gardens.
Jamie and Micah met while working for Teach for America when they were both assigned to teach at the same school. Micah already had plans to leave for medical school and Jamie stayed on an additional year to teach before entering medical school herself. Their relationship has spanned a decade while being separated in different states. A long-distance relationship that has truly stood the test of time and the stresses of medical school and residencies and multiple moves. It was only fitting that they had a heartfelt and uncomplicated day surrounded by their closest friends and family.
The wedding was simple and DIY. Flowers were collected from the abundant gardens to make the bouquets and boutonnieres. A short, personalized ceremony. A super tasty BBQ dinner. Lawn games. Lots of crazy dancing. And an end to the evening punctuated by an impressive fireworks display right in their own backyard. What a day!
