Marla Georgine. A newborn session at home in Lititz, Pennsylvania.

Marla was due the day of the Presidential election this year(sharing a due date with her cousin!) and decided she couldn’t wait that long, so she arrived on the scene a few days early!  This was not my first time photographing a member of the Deutsch family and it is always an honor to be invited back time and time again.  It is always fun to photograph families as they change and grow over time–especially newborns and kids because they grow so quickly!  I had the opportunity to photograph Marla’s big brother, Nolan, when he was born and then capture some family photos for them in the Fall when Nolan was a little bigger.

This time around, Nolan was not so eager to have his photo taken.  I will be the first to admit that photographing toddler siblings and newborns is one of the most difficult things to do, EVER!  Especially if they are close in age, toddlers seem to be a little harder to convince to sit or lie still long enough to get a photo of them with their new baby brother or sister.  Bribing sometimes does the trick, but not always.  Unfortunately, Nolan was not into the idea, so we decided to skip on to group family photos and wait until next time to get some sibling photos.  I am always going to try my hardest to get all the different photo combinations that I can, but sometimes things simply do not go to plan.

Marla did great and slept through having her photo taken like a champ.  The little knit green bonnet was provided as a gift from a family member and it made for some of the cutest photos!  It was even warm enough that day in November so that we could go outside to take photos of the whole family!
