Dazie. A summer children’s session at a park in York, Pennsylvania.

Dazie turned 6 this year.  Hhhwhhatttt?!  I’m in denial.  I guess you can look forward to me repeating this same sentence every year for the foreseeable future.

This kid continues to impress me more and more each year I take her photos.  How many young kids do you know that write thank you notes?  Certainly not 6 year olds!  That is something my siblings and I were taught to do at an early age, but I have found that hand-written thank you notes are almost a dying art in the digital age.  Never underestimate the power of a handwritten note!  Dazie has given me a thank you note each year I have photographed her, but this year she added some illustrations to the thank you note and I just HAD to include a photo of it because–😭😍😭😍😭😍  This kid is just the sweetest!  She is being raised by loving family members and being instilled with so many increasingly rare qualities.

She has grown up so much in the 4 years that I have been photographing her, but she hasn’t lost her ham-bone hilarity of a personality!  I hope she never loses that sassy individuality.  This year we splashed around in a creek bed to start off the session and then moved on to a garden spot to take photos.  Dazie loved having her photo taken wearing her dance costume last year and requested we take more photos in this years’ costume.  How could I say no to that?  Until next year…
