These two absolutely CRUSHED it at their engagement session. I love Kim&Bill. I love their personalities. And mostly, I love how they interact with one another. They were completely at ease with having their photo taken and required little to no direction from me. A photographer’s dream! At the risk of over simplifying things, I just pointed my camera and shot a bunch of photos and prayed I did not miss any of their shenanigans. Bill had a totally unmatched level of enthusiasm for the dip/kiss move. I think they did that at least once every time we stopped for photos. There was a whole lotta kissing going on, but I do not think either of them minded!
The Heritage Rail Trail in York was the first place that Kim suggested as a location for their engagement photos. Even though it had been quite awhile since I had visited the Rail Trail, I instantly knew that it was going to be a stupendous choice. Kim used to frequent the Rail Trail, listening to Mumford&Sons on repeat, while training for the two marathons that she has run. That’s two more than me, people! The Rail Trail might be just pretty enough to motivate me to train for and run a marathon. My playlist would be comprised of more late 90’s early 2000’s rap/hip-hop though.
I’m just going to leave this here…Pandora radio station: Hip-Hop BBQ. You’re welcome.
We ended up having to reschedule these photos twice due to weather(rain, rain, and more rain!) and thankfully the third time was the charm! The planets aligned and we were greeted with a sunny, warm day! The light, the location, and the couple…if this is what their engagement session looked like, I can only imagine what their wedding is going to be like.
The session was not without it’s problems though. There was an incident involving tinted lip balm and my camera bag, my own doing, wherein I thought for a fraction of a second that my hand was bleeding. Nope, just tinted lip balm all over the inside of one of the pockets of my camera bag and somehow all over my arm. Don’t ask. I don’t even know.
Three hours, three miles walked, and a few mosquito bites later we were done! I am so happy that they were willing to let me hold them hostage extra long that night so that I could try some photos with sparklers. It meant eating dinner way too late, but I’m pretty sure they were rewarded heavily for their commitment:
