Pam&Jim. A summer wedding at F&M’s Nevin Chapel and reception at the John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania.

The eruption of cheers that filled Nevin Chapel at Franklin & Marshall College when the new Mr.&Mrs. Brennan were introduced probably could have been heard from a few blocks away.  Maybe that was just my imagination, maybe it was the acoustics inside the chapel, or maybe, just maybe, it was the purest outpouring of joy and affection from all of their family and friends.  A clear indication of how well-loved these two individuals are!

Pam and Jim met almost nine years ago while working in the same Italian restaurant in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  Shortly thereafter, they went on their first date together.  Jim fell for Pam almost instantly and within a few months Pam felt the same about Jim.  When Jim graduated from F&M, they embarked on a new adventure together…living in New York City!  And the rest, as they say, is history!

The real Pam&Jim(The Office anyone?) got married on what would have been Pam’s grandmother’s birthday.  Although the only photos from Pam’s grandparent’s wedding were black and white, she knew that her grandmother’s wedding dress was blue.  Her grandmother had used fabric from her wedding dress to make clothing for her daughters’ dolls.  So when it came time to choose her own wedding dress, Pam decided on wearing a blue dress too.  A beautiful non-traditional dress that she totally rocked and that suits her personality!

The reception at the John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville was every bit a collision of love and laughter as their ceremony had been.  The dance floor remained full all night long and included some rowdy moshing and several dance circles.  Things got a little nuts when the DJ played “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” by the Dropkick Murphys.  You either become one with the moshing and dance circles or you had better get out of the way!  The highlight of the evening had to be the speech given by the Matron of Honor, Lisa.  She discussed a fraternity Halloween party that Pam and Jim attended together shortly after they started dating.  More specifically, the costume that Pam assembled for said party.  Pam opted to eschew the all too common “sexy” costumes for college girls and put together her own, complete with an old Girl Scouts uniform, whistle, fanny pack, wrist sweatbands, crimped hair, and glasses.  And so, the nerdy alter-ego “Sandy Pance” was born into this world!  The detailed description was not nearly enough, so Lisa brought a visual aide, a 5×7 photo of “Sandy”, that sadly no guests could see from a distance.  Good thing she had the good sense to have it turned into a poster…surprise!!!  The reactions were priceless!

All in all it was a spectacular day and night.  I also shot some of my favorite double exposure images to date.  Double exposures featuring the Milky Way(a solo 2am adventure in the woods) and a few with firefly trails, both a first for me!  Enjoy!  #longliveSandyPance
