“JJ” Jefferson Judson [1 year] + family. A summer family session at Lake Redman in York, Pennsylvania.

Each time I am hired again by the same family it feels like a privilege.  A privilege to be the one chosen to document the lives of the same individuals year in and year out.  To document how kids grow and mature.  To document how families change and expand.  It also never ceases to amaze me how fast kids change in just a years’ time!

This was the fourth time I have photographed this family and it was no less exciting than the very first time.  We ventured to Lake Redman to capture some photos of their youngest, JJ,  for his first birthday as well as the rest of the family.  I have photographed at Lake Redman a few other times, but it looked so different when we were there for this session because it was at a time when we had not had a lot of rain.  The water table was so low that there was a rock beach of sorts that we could walk on that is normally totally under water.  It made for some really neat photos!

The boys tried their hand at skipping rocks and also watched some kayakers on the water.  A nearby canoe provided some entertainment as well.  Who knew a landlocked vessel could be so much fun to climb on and play in?  They were a rambunctious duo and I look forward to photographing this family in many years to come!
