Brooks was due on election day(he shared a due date with his cousin Marla!), but this newborn nugget decided he wanted to wait a few extra days before being born! This was a first for me–getting to photograph baby cousins! I traveled to Baltimore, Maryland to photograph baby Brooks, his lovable boxer brother, Cash, and his parents.
Try as I might to smooth it out, Brooks was rockin’ a spiky mohawk ‘do for most of the session. It was a pretty adorable feature, so we just decided to roll with it. And the adorable knit suspenders and matching hat were a gift from a family member. There are some pretty talented people on Etsy! Brooks really seemed to enjoy my baby-burrito wrapping skills because he stayed asleep throughout the entire session. Victory!
Some of my favorite photos from this session were taken when we got the rest of the family involved. Almost as soon as I put Brooks in his mom’s arms, a comically large smile spread across his face. Thankfully I was at the ready in order to catch his cute grin.
As I had been setting up in the nursery earlier, I noticed an image they had taken themselves before Brooks was born, wherein Cash was looking up at Jamie as she cradled her pregnant belly. I knew I had to attempt to recreate it now that Brooks was born. And, thanks to having a very well-trained dog(and a few dog biscuit bribes), we were successful. Plentiful dog drool not pictured.
Please enjoy these photos of this sweet lil’ nugget and his equally sweet family!
