Welcome to the world, Atlas! I photographed Atlas at home in York, Pennsylvania. My first newborn session of 2017. Atlas is the second baby in a row that I photographed that smiled almost on-demand.
After the first time he smiled on his own, it quickly turned into a game to see what we could do to make him smile again and again. Turns out, he really enjoyed the sensation of his mom’s fingernails lightly brushing along his cheek, and it resulted in a real-life emoji expression! Eyes squeezed tight with his tongue out. A little baby 😝😝😝 emoji! It had me laughing out loud!
Atlas’s nursery had some adorable vintage Lion-themed hooked rugs on the walls for decoration, so we had to throw on a knit lion hat for a couple photos. He made for one cute little lion, that’s for sure! We even managed to get “Biggie”, Atlas’s dog brother, to sit still for a few images.
We ended the session in the nursery with Atlas’s parents and caught Atlas smiling a few more times while he was being held. Please enjoy these photos of this lil’ cutie and his family!
